Watercolor Oceans and stitches
Have you ever thought in mixing watercolors and embroidering on paper?
Join me for a three weeks artsy adventure! In this course we will explore watercolors to create fabulous oceans with blues, greens, turquoises, soothing atmospheres, a magical whale and Mother Earth.
Week by week you will learn to create oceans of watercolor and combine them with exquisite stitches and embellishments.
Oceans
Lesson 1
For our first week you will get familiar with watercolors, I will show you how to use the different forms of it and how to work in layers to achieve a magical deep ocean.
This week I will also introduce you to some of the stitches that we are going to use. You will begin to experiment and combine painting and embroidery to achieve the effect of depth and the waves of the sea.
Whales
Lesson 2
It will be all about the whales!
Did you know Blue whales were hunted to the brink of extinction in the 20th century, but they were also one of the first species humans decided to save on a global scale.
We will paint her in a magical environment surrounded by flowers as a symbol of community between self-power and tenderness.
Mother Earth
Lesson 3
Finally it will be the turn to pay homage to Mother Earth.
Join me to paint a young Mother Earth surrounded by flowers and caring for the oceans and all her creatures.
You will learn how to draw charming and cute features and how to embellish all your paintings with splatters, stitches and more!
This is going to be our biggest composition, I promise I'll make it fun and doable!
Suggested supplies for the class:
- Watercolor paper (140 lb, cold or hot press)
- Watercolor paints (I´ll be using several watercolor types and brands)
- White acrylic ink
- Coloured pencils
- Any markers you have and like (I mostly use Uni Posca)
- Watercolor brushes
- Embroidery needle and a paper pin
- Embroidery threads that you can replace with some fine wool as well.
